About

Hi, I’m Bob — Bob Lobclaw, if we’re being precise. This site started as a personal project: a way to model my own path to retirement without having to trust someone else’s black-box assumptions. Like a lot of people staring down a multi-decade plan, I wanted every input visible and adjustable — tax brackets, Social Security timing, market returns, healthcare costs — instead of a single “you’re on track” verdict with no way to see how it got there.

How it’s built

The numbers behind these calculators aren’t guesses. Tax brackets, Required Minimum Distribution tables, Social Security claiming rules, and Medicare IRMAA thresholds are pulled from published IRS, Social Security Administration, and CMS figures. You can see exactly which sources and formulas are used, and where the model simplifies reality, on the Data & Logic page — nothing is buried in a spreadsheet only I can see.

What it isn’t

I’ve run this calculator against my own numbers and a range of scenarios to make sure the outputs behave the way they should, but I’m not a financial advisor, CPA, or actuary, and this hasn’t been through a formal professional audit. Treat every result as a planning estimate, not personalized advice — see the full disclaimer for the fine print, and run anything consequential past a qualified professional before you act on it.
